The Zebra DS2208 all-purpose barcode scanner reads 1D and 2D barcodes in seconds – from classic paper and plastic labels as well as from a smartphone display. It captures customer cards, promotional codes, vouchers, and much more directly from the customer's smartphone for easy billing – ideal for use in retail and hospitality, even during peak times. The DS2208 automatically detects handheld and presentation mode by simply placing it in or removing it from the presentation stand. This multifunctional area imager is ready to use straight out of the box thanks to comprehensive pre-configuration – just unpack and start. The connection cable (available in USB, RS232, KBW, or IBM) is automatically recognized by the DS2208 through Auto-Host-Detect upon connection, requiring no further settings. With Zebra's free remote software SMS (Scanner Management Service), you can manage and configure the DS2208 and many other models worldwide from a PC, smartphone, or tablet. Switching from 1D to 2D is easy with Zebra, as there is full backward compatibility with all existing connection cables of the widely used Zebra LS2208.
