The highly absorbent microporous separator of the maintenance-free lead battery binds a maximum amount of pure electrolyte and permanently isolates the electrodes from each other. This allows the battery to be operated in any position, even upside down, without loss of capacity. The electrodes are made from a special antimony-free lead alloy, resulting in a very low self-discharge of less than 3% per month. The robust housing material is a shock- and break-resistant ABS plastic that is also resistant to corrosion and aging. Yuasa NP batteries of the same capacity can be connected in series and parallel without splitting the load, but they must always come from the same batch. Deep discharge should generally be avoided even with such a high-quality battery.

It can be installed and operated in any position (except permanently upside down), is completely maintenance-free due to its valve-regulated design, and is made using durable and cycle-resistant lead-calcium technology. This makes it suitable for use in alarm systems, solar systems, emergency power supplies, laboratory equipment, medical devices, model building, and uninterruptible power supplies for computers. VdS-certified batteries are approved by the Association of Property Insurers for use in VdS alarm systems under the assigned VdS number.
