Functionality
Gray filters, also known as ND filters (Neutral Density), uniformly reduce the entire visible light spectrum across the entire filter. This does not affect colors and contrasts. This reduction is useful in various applications. For example, an extended exposure time can create flow effects in moving water or be used in bright environments with an open aperture and longer shutter speed. The gray filter used here with a filter factor of 32 extends the exposure time/aperture increase by 5 f-stops.

Filter In which situation
CPL In situations where light reduction is not necessary, the CPL filter is used to prevent glare in video footage.
ND4 In weak but direct light, such as during sunrise and sunset.
ND8 On sunny but cloudy days.
