Function of the ND16 Filter

Neutral density filters, also known as ND filters (Neutral Density), uniformly reduce the entire visible light spectrum across the entire filter. This does not affect colors and contrasts.

Use of the walimex pro Drone Filter DJI Phantom 4 Pro ND16

This reduction is useful in various applications. For example, a longer exposure time can create motion effects in moving water or can be utilized in bright environments with an open aperture and extended shutter speed. The gray filter used here with a filter factor of 16 extends the exposure time by 4 stops.

Filter for which situation

CPL: In situations where light reduction is minimal, the CPL filter is used to prevent glare in the video material.

ND4: In weak but direct light, such as during sunrise and sunset.

ND8: On sunny but cloudy days.

ND16: In bright conditions.
