Product details
The VCC 1212-30 from Votronic is a fully automatic, non-isolated battery charge converter designed for special vehicles, high-end motorhomes, and boats. It provides high charging power even for short driving distances or a full charge for longer trips. The device adjusts the voltage to the necessary level to accurately charge the on-board battery with the optimal charging characteristics. It fully compensates for line losses and alternator voltage fluctuations, which are common in Euro 6 vehicles with intelligent alternators.
With a compact design and low weight due to high-frequency switch mode technology, it features robust power components for safe operation. The energy balance of the on-board battery is significantly improved without interfering with the starter circuit. Supplied 12 V consumers are protected against overvoltage and voltage fluctuations. The charging voltage is free of peaks and regulated to prevent overcharging of the batteries.
The device operates fully automatically, remaining connected to the batteries and activating when the vehicle's alternator is running. When the engine is off, the batteries are not discharged. In parallel and buffer operation, the battery continues to charge or stay full during simultaneous consumption. The device automatically calculates and monitors the adjustment of charging times.
It offers monitoring-free charging with multiple protections against overload, overheating, overvoltage, short-circuits, malfunctions, and battery back-discharge through electronic cut-off, which can completely disconnect the device from the battery. Additionally, it includes a built-in on-board filter for problem-free parallel operation with other charging sources, such as EBL, chargers, motor and fuel generators, and solar systems. Voltage losses on the charging cables are automatically compensated, and there is a connection for a battery temperature sensor (included), suitable for lead batteries (acid, gel, AGM).
