Comprehensive line analysis and TDR fault location. Those looking to locate cable breaks or poor connections in electrical systems quickly encounter complex problems. Especially for cables installed behind walls, the Voltcraft KT-300 LAN Cable Tester is an indispensable tool. Whether it's twisted-pair cables (CAT5E to CAT7), coaxial cables (50, 75, and 93 Ω), or telephone and alarm lines: using TDR technology (Time Domain Reflectometry), distances to faults in cables ranging from 0.5 to 610 meters are precisely located. For a detailed diagnosis, resistance, propagation delay, and time offset (shifts/skew) including length and distance to faults are accurately determined. Thanks to VOP (adjustable propagation speed), high measurement accuracy is achieved across various cable types such as UTP, FTP, or SSTP.

Verification of network and PoE structures. To ensure correct wiring, the Voltcraft KT-300 LAN Cable Tester creates complete wiremaps and reliably identifies line interruptions, short circuits, polarity reversals, and split pairs. In addition to general Ethernet connection tests, the tester features PoE signal detection, distinguishing between endspan and midspan supplies while also recognizing the simultaneous use of all eight wires. For functional testing of alarm systems, a 100 mA load test for 12 V batteries is integrated, which checks the load capacity under real conditions.

Efficient cable location and documentation. For installation and troubleshooting in complex environments, an integrated tone generator and eight RJ45 remote units are available. These allow for the simultaneous identification of up to eight connection sockets or cable paths. The internal memory can store 250 reports, which can be read and printed via the USB interface.
