The Victron Battery-Protect BP-48-100 disconnects the battery from less important consumers before it is completely discharged, which could cause damage, or before it no longer has enough energy to start the engine. Additionally, the BP series features overvoltage protection that disconnects the load in case of overvoltage, preventing damage. The BP supports AGM, lead-acid, gel, and lithium batteries. An inverter must never be connected to the Victron Battery-Protect BP-48-100.

Six different disconnect thresholds are adjustable. The Battery-Protect is very flexible and can be set to various disconnect voltages. You can find the exact values in the user manual for this item. There are also different reconnect thresholds available for most disconnect levels. This makes the device the perfect protection for your battery, ensuring maximum lifespan, as most voltage converters or charge controllers have undervoltage protection that only activates at quite low values, usually around 10.5 V / 21 V. The higher this disconnect threshold is set, the longer you will enjoy your batteries, which are generally quite costly.
