VE.Bus BMS
The VE.Bus BMS protects each individual cell of a Victron lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP) battery. Each cell of a LiFePO4 battery must be protected against overvoltage, undervoltage, and overtemperature. Victron LiFePO4 batteries come with built-in cell balancing, temperature, and voltage control (Balancing, Temperature and Voltage control, hence the acronym BTV). They are connected to the VE.Bus BMS via two M8 round connector cable sets. The BTVs of multiple batteries can be chained together. For more details, please refer to the technical documentation for our LiFePO4 battery.
Functions of the BMS: Disconnecting or isolating loads in the event of an imminent cell undervoltage. Reducing the charging current in the event of an impending cell undervoltage or overtemperature (only for VE.Bus products). Disconnecting or isolating the battery chargers in the event of an imminent cell overvoltage or overtemperature.
