Similar to diode battery separation, FETs can simultaneously charge two or more batteries via an AC generator or a battery charger with a single output, without connecting the batteries to each other. Unlike diode battery separation, FET separation results in virtually no voltage loss. The voltage drop is less than 0.02 volts at low current and on average 0.1 volts at higher current levels.
