SDHC cards use a FAT32 file system - a specification defined for applications with higher capacity requirements - and are particularly suitable for high-quality video. The increasing use of high-quality video, high-resolution digital photography and mobile applications requires higher storage capacities and more demanding data transfer rates. The SDHC cards therefore offer a continuous minimum data transfer speed instead of a maximum speed. Verbatim SDHC cards are compatible with all relevant SD standards. An integrated write protection also prevents accidental deletion of the data. SDHC cards use the same low-level formatting as SD cards, but cannot be used for SD host devices that do not meet the SDA Standards version 2.0.
