With its two different modes, the LCD Smart Charger+ can not only charge but also refresh NiMH batteries that have lost capacity over time. It allows for the simultaneous charging of various combinations regarding the number, charge state, capacities, and sizes of the batteries. A shutdown procedure for the charging process takes advantage of the fact that the voltage (Delta U) slightly decreases when the batteries are fully charged. The temperature of the batteries is monitored during the charging process. If the temperature exceeds a certain value, the device automatically turns off. After the charging process is complete, a low maintenance charge continues to flow to prevent self-discharge of the batteries. Defective cells are not charged, thus preventing damage to the charger. There is a detection system for faulty, unsuitable, or incorrectly inserted battery types. A safety timer shuts off after a certain period, regardless of the charging status. There is protection against incorrectly inserted cells. Mobile devices can be charged via USB cable through the USB interfaces of the charger. The charging time is 1.5 hours.
