The HDMI Ethernet Channel adds a high-speed network to an HDMI connection, allowing users to get the most out of their IP-enabled devices without the need for a separate Ethernet cable. The Audio Return Channel enables an HDMI-connected TV with a built-in tuner to send audio "upstream" to a surround sound system, eliminating the need for a separate audio cable. 3D defines input and output protocols for the major 3D video formats. This cable features HDMI connectors at both ends and is made from high-quality materials, including gold-plated metal connector housings and shielding for better protection. Gold-plated contacts enhance durability.
