DisplayPort is a universal connection standard for transmitting video and audio signals. Its primary applications include connecting monitors and televisions to computers, BluRay players, and similar devices. The connector takes up less space, making it more suitable for portable display devices (ultrabooks, notebooks/laptops) or for two connections on a graphics card. The practical plug design prevents the cable from slipping out of the DisplayPort socket.
