The USB-to-Serial Cable Y-105 is ideal for computers without a serial interface, such as new laptop models. It supports the RS-232 interface and uses the Prolific PL-2303 chipset, compatible with USB 1.1. Please note that this device does not emulate a full COM port controller (UART) and does not work with software that requires IRQ assignment or directly accesses the COM port controller.
