He was passionate about the natural, balanced reproduction of sound, which is why he equipped the mono speaker with an automatic contouring of frequencies in half-octaves. Furthermore, the models that were revived in the new millennium under Tom de Vesto prioritize user-friendliness: The simply elegant, acoustically decoupled wooden housing features clear options on the front.

In the classic model of the series, the front is divided into the round, finely perforated grill of the speaker, two knobs for volume and power switch with input selection (FM, AM, and AUX for external connections), as well as a large dial for tuning. The latter boasts a fivefold gearing with particularly sensitive adjustment, allowing for optimal radio reception with the highest selectivity in station tuning. A signal strength indicator supports the precise setting of the radio station. The radio device features a separate AUX input for connecting another audio source (CD/mp3 player) via a standard jack plug. Additionally, there is an output for various recording devices and a stereo headphone output.
