It is easy to see why the Black Pro-Mists have been so successful over the past 30 years. The unique layering of contrast combined with a sheer color that acts like a halo is a variation of the Pro Halation Spill effect. Even at the lowest density, it delivers effective and enhanced halo formation, adding a pleasant depth and warmth without transferring to skin tone values. These characteristics become more pronounced when using densities of a quarter and above. At higher densities, the spill from practical light is quite aggressive, and the warm tone becomes more evident. However, the subtle yet impactful look continues to make the Pro Mist filter a standard choice for many cinematographers in the digital realm.
