This high-quality USB 2.0 extension cable from TetherTools is an active extension device. Active extension cables allow you to cover long distances while connected, without worrying about signal errors or data loss. An active USB device buffers incoming and outgoing signals and data transfers to ensure consistent signal quality. When using passive cables for data transmission longer than 5m, signal errors and/or noise can occur. Beyond 5m, they are no longer recommended. Up to 4 active USB extensions and 1 passive USB cable can be daisy-chained together to achieve a length of 24m without any degradation in signal or quality. The setup is simple: just plug the connector of the Active Extension into your computer, and then connect your camera or another device's USB cable into the socket of the extension cable. For longer distances, simply add additional active extension cables in the series to reach the required length.
