Product details
The SP 150-600mm G2 (Generation 2) ultra-telephoto zoom lens with improved optical properties allows for stunning results. This new lens is a consistent evolution of the current SP 150-600mm (Model A011), which Tamron first introduced in December 2013. It offers enhanced overall optical performance, faster autofocus speed, VC enhancements, and a fluorine coating, along with a newly developed Flex Zoom Lock and the ability to use teleconverters.
Built from the ground up to strict quality standards and design specifications, the new 150-600mm G2 combines intelligent technology and high performance with craftsmanship, durability, and user-friendliness. The SP 150-600mm G2 includes three LD (Low Dispersion) elements that nearly eliminate chromatic aberrations at a very high performance level. The optical construction of the lens consists of a total of 21 elements in 13 groups.
Two special coatings, eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular Dependency) and BBAR (Broad Band Anti-Reflection), ensure top-notch anti-reflective properties. Even when photographing a backlit subject, ghosting and unwanted stray light are completely eliminated. Another improvement of the lens is the enhancement of the minimum object distance (MOD). By shortening it to 2.2 meters, entirely new possibilities in the field of tele-macro photography are opened up.
The 150-600mm G2 is equipped with a USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor that provides excellent responsiveness and control. The AF speed has been significantly improved, allowing for precise high-speed focusing to accurately capture fast-moving subjects.
Currently not compatible with the Nikon Z7 camera, even though it has a Nikon F mount connection.
