The FH model series has always represented the heavyweights at Volvo. With the FH16, particularly in its top engine configuration, an impressive commercial vehicle has been created that can handle the heaviest tasks and loads. Tamiya has captured the FH16 in the 8x4 chassis configuration as a tow truck, marking the first time a 4-axle truck with two steered front axles has been realized as a model. The Globetrotter cab is accurately designed with many details both inside and out. Special attention was paid to the functionality and realism of the tow bar during construction, incorporating many metal components. Additionally, a separate actuator allows for the tow bar to be operated electrically via the remote control. As is customary with Tamiya trucks, the Tow Truck can also be equipped with a multifunction unit MFC-03, which adds over 30 light and sound functions, enhancing the truck's realism and providing maximum play enjoyment. The well-known 35Turn motor from the Timber Truck delivers its power through the familiar 3-speed transmission to the two driven rear axles. Only the first gear is available for towing operations. A 4-channel remote control, as well as a 7.2V NiMh drive battery, charger, and speed controller, are required for operation.
