The Toyota Celica GT-Four RC was developed as a homologation car for participation in global rally races, with 5,000 units sold worldwide in 1992. This car, with its sleek and powerful body, featured a 2-liter turbo engine with metal turbines and a water-based intercooler system, delivering 235 horsepower. The 4WD system utilized a central viscous coupling and a Torsen differential at the rear for excellent controllability and traction. In global rally competitions in 1993, the Celica GT-Four brought Toyota (ST185) its first manufacturer and driver championships.

The 58724 TAMIYA model is based on the proven TT-02 chassis, which offers multiple adjustments for wheelbase, ground clearance, track width, and gear ratios. With countless optional tuning parts available, the chassis can be quickly modified into a racer. The 4WD drive system features a central shaft, double wishbones, and shock absorbers on all four wheels, ensuring realistic driving dynamics and optimal traction. The chassis underside is designed to be extra smooth, and the battery compartment accommodates all common battery types. A visual highlight is the wheel hubs, which feature attached brake disc replicas.
