The S-8972 is a replacement battery for the Sony NP-F970, compatible with Sony HVR-V1/Z1/Z7, DSR-PD190, HD1000E, and more. The S-8972 can exchange digital information with the cameras and display the remaining power information on the camera viewfinder. With a nominal voltage of 7.2 V, the S-8972 has a capacity of 47 Wh / 6.6 Ah and can operate the Sony HVR-Z1 camcorder for approximately 5.5 hours with the LCD monitor turned on. A 5.5/2.1 mm pole-tap DC output socket is provided on the side of the S-8972 battery for the DC 7.2 V (nominal) connection. You can connect camera-mounted LED lights, monitors, or wireless transmitters to the pole terminal while simultaneously powering the camera. The maximum output from the pole tip is 30 W, 4 A. The pole-tap socket can also be used as a charging input with Swit's portable charger S-3010D.
