The LC connector is a high-performance fibre optic connector for singlemode and multimode applications and impresses with its low insertion loss. It is one of the most common fibre optic connector types. The design of the LC connector is based on a single-fibre ceramic ferrule with a diameter of 1.25 mm for an optical fibre. Due to its compact design, the LC connector enables a high packing density, which is why it is often used for fibre optic switches.
