Add a serial RS-232 null modem connection to a laptop or desktop by using an available USB-A port. Expand your desktop or laptop computer with support for serial RS-232 DCE communication and resolve DCE/DTE conflicts directly, without the need for additional crossed serial cables or adapters.

The 3 m USB null modem adapter adds a serial RS-232 DB/DE-9 (female) port to a desktop or laptop computer via a USB Type A connection. Attach the adapter using the pre-installed, removable, slotted D-sub thumb screws to a serial device, or install the included DB-9 nuts to ensure compatibility with other serial devices or cables.

The data transmission and reception LED indicators on the adapter allow for real-time monitoring of connection activity. The USB LED indicates whether the adapter has been successfully connected to the desktop or laptop computer. All LEDs assist in diagnostics and troubleshooting.

The adapter is compatible with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and Linux. Drivers for Windows 7 and newer versions, as well as macOS 10.15 and newer, and Linux are automatically installed. The USB to RS-232 adapter features a COM retention function that automatically reassigns the COM port value when the cable is unplugged and reinserted or when the system is restarted.

The robust TPE construction and level 4 ESD protection (15 kV air and 8 kV contact) enhance the reliability and durability of the USB serial adapter. The copper shielding minimizes electromagnetic and high-frequency interference (EMI and RFI). Gold-plated connectors improve signal conductivity.
