Product details
This USB Host Shield contains all the logic needed to create a fully functional USB peripheral/host controller with your Arduino. This means you can control any USB slave device (memory stick, camera, Bluetooth dongle, etc.) with your Arduino.
The shield is controlled using the Four-Wire Serial Protocol and connects the Arduino SPI pins D10-D13 to a MAX 3421. The USB A (Female) connector on the board provides 5V, just like a standard USB connector.
The Host Shield draws power from the VIN of the Arduino.
Due to the use of SPI pins D10-D13, this shield is not compatible with the Arduino Mega, Leonardo, or Due without modifications, and it works directly only with the classic Duemilanove and UNO.
We provide 2 pairs of stackable headers for free with this shield (not included in the original Sparkfun package).
