SparkFun Shift-In Breakout SN74HC165

The SN74HC165N is a nice little IC that has an input for up to 8 parallel lines and produces a single serial output. It's a great way to increase the number of inputs on a microcontroller.

This breakthrough makes it easy to build a prototype of the 74HC165 by using standard 0.1" spaced pin headers for all the pins you need. We have arranged the data and power supply pins so you can easily form chains of them and expand the number of outputs under your control!

This chip operates with a supply voltage range of 2-6 VDC and at clock frequencies of up to 29 MHz (@6 VDC).
