SparkFun Music Instrument Shield

Have you ever wished your Arduino could make music? Or do you need some cool sounds for your project? With the Sparkfun Musical Instrument Shield, you can easily play great-sounding MIDI audio.

The board features a VS1053 MIDI Codec IC. Simply connect speakers, headphones, or an amplifier to the audio output (3.5mm jack), upload your MIDI files, and you're good to go!

The VS1053 includes two large sound banks with various instruments (Piano, Woodwinds, Brass, Synth, SFX, Percussion). The shield can play up to 31 tones simultaneously. Of course, we provide ready-made Arduino sketches as well.

We deliver the latest version with some improvements.

As is customary at Play-Zone, we provide the shield with stackable headers at no extra charge (not included in the original package).
