Product details

The MP3 Trigger Audio Board from SparkFun is a versatile electronics module that significantly simplifies the integration of MP3 sound into projects. With 18 external trigger pins, it allows for the direct activation of predefined MP3 tracks. The module also features a full-duplex serial control port, enabling comprehensive control over audio transport. It supports remote control of up to 256 tracks and offers fast, real-time volume adjustment. MP3 files are stored on micro-SD cards formatted with FAT16 or FAT32, ensuring flexible and user-friendly handling of audio content. The integrated Cypress PSoC microcontroller and VLSI VS1063 audio codec provide high-quality stereo playback. Additionally, an optional initialization file allows for the customization of the serial port's baud rate and reprogramming of the trigger inputs for various functions, including random and sequential track selection. The module also includes a "Quiet Mode" feature that provides serial feedback on activated triggers without immediately starting playback.

  • 18 external trigger pins for direct activation of MP3 tracks
  • Full-duplex serial control port for comprehensive transport control
  • Support for up to 256 tracks with fast volume adjustment
  • Optimized playback of 192Kbps stereo across a wider range of micro-SD cards
  • Flexible trigger functionality with options for random and sequential track selection.
