Product details

The latest version of the MP3 Player Shield not only offers the excellent MP3 decoding capabilities of the previous version but now also includes the functionality of an SD Card Shield. This allows you to play MP3s directly from the SD card and turn your Arduino into a real MP3 player. The MP3 Shield uses the VS1053B MP3 Audio Decoder IC and supports not only MP3 but also Ogg Vorbis, AAC, WMA, and MIDI.

The VS1053 receives the bitstream via SPI. After decoding, the audio is sent to the 3.5 mm headphone jack as well as to a 2-pin header.

The shield comes with all components pre-soldered. At Play-Zone, you will receive stackable headers, which are not included in the original package, for free with the shield!

Note: Please refer to the PDF "Line Out Information" if you wish to connect this shield to an amplifier.
