Product details

The Bus Pirate is a diagnostic tool for almost any serial protocol. The Bus Pirate V3.6a, designed by Ian Lesnet, is a diagnostic tool for almost any serial protocol (I2C, SPI, async Serial) with voltages from 0 - 5.5VCD. Working with the Bus Pirate is very simple and effective - simply type command into a serial terminal on the PC and the Bus Pirate sends the command with the correct protocol to any device. Of course, the bus can also receive and interpret pirates. In addition, the PIC firmware of the Bus Pirate can be updated very easily. The Bus Pirate works with a PIC24FJ64 processor and has an FT232RL USB serial IC. The Pirate is connected to the PC with a Mini-B USB and recognized as a virtual COM port.
