The premium lens with the strongest telephoto range among all Sony lenses is the lightest in its class worldwide and features powerful autofocus, high resolution, and beautiful bokeh. It is ideal for sports, news, and wildlife photography. Weighing only about 3,040 grams, it is currently the lightest in its class. Two XD linear motors (extreme dynamics) make the autofocus faster, more precise, and quieter. It is compatible with the 1.4x and 2.0x E-Mount teleconverters. The optical image stabilizer OSS is particularly helpful for dynamic sports shots, ensuring razor-sharp images. Three different setting options make working with the lens even easier. Additionally, there are four focus hold buttons that can be individually programmed.
