Five aspherical elements and an ED glass are installed inside the compact lens to ensure that the image quality is right over the enormous focal length range from wide-angle to telephoto. Sony relies on the powerful "Advanced Linear" AF motor for this model, so that the autofocus can focus fast and responsive from close-up to far distance.
