Gerät lädt nur bei voller und direkter Sonneneinstrahlung auf. Dazu muss es mindestens 8 Stunden im Freien und im richtigen Winkel liegen (wie soll das gehen auf Fensterbänken oder Campingplätzen?). Bei bewölktem Himmel fängt es erst gar nicht an zu laden, hinter Fenstern ebenfalls schwierig. Adapter sind nur Solio-kompatibel und USB-Adapter erwärmt sich (zusätzlicher Energieverbrauch). Ladekapazität (ca. 1,6 Ah) reicht für Smartphones nicht aus (iPhone 4 wird zum Beispiel auch mit über Steckdose voll aufgeladenem Gerät nur zu ca. 80% geladen). Gerät macht praktisch nur im Sommer oder am Strand Sinn, da ist jedoch wegen der hohen Temperaturen für den Akku Vorsicht geboten.
