The new 23mm FI.4 DC DN Contemporary from Sigma is a fast wide-angle lens for APS-C cameras. We have tested the X-mount version of the model for you.
In addition to its good value for money, the new Sigma lens is characterised by its high build quality. Although the robust housing is not explicitly splash-proof, the lens mount is. Light rain will therefore not affect the new Sigma.
Measured against Sony mirrorless, 24 MP, APS-C: With the fast 23 mm, Sigma brings another APS-C fixed focal length for 500 euros. At open aperture, we measured high values for resolution and contrast in the centre of the image, which drop only moderately towards the edges. At aperture 2.8, the values in the centre of the image rise to a top level, the relative drop-off at the edges remains the same...
