The stethoset receiver automatically deactivates itself when taken off, preserving battery life. There is no longer a need for the Tourguide to check all sets after one tour and before the next. Tour participants can individually adjust the volume through a rotary control on the receiver without needing to remove the device. An LC display clearly confirms the volume, battery status, quality of reception, and the channel being listened to. Channels can be easily set and adjusted using the middle buttons. The reception range is about 100 meters for outdoor tours and about 50 meters for indoor tours.
