The compactly built 14 mm ultra-wide-angle lens helps photographers achieve unique images when "more" needs to be seen in the frame. A brightness of f/2.8 allows for stunning pictures even in low light conditions. The two aspherical lenses, thanks to the Extra Low Dispersion technology, reduce chromatic aberrations. Of course, the lenses are multi-coated. As is typical with Samyang, this meticulously produced optic is manually focused. The lens hood is fixed to prevent unwanted reflections and light intrusion. A minimum focusing distance of just 28 cm allows for sharp, high-contrast images even from a short distance. In addition to the enormous breadth this ultra-wide-angle lens offers, it impresses with remarkable depth of field.

Measured against Sony mirrorless, 43 MP, KB: In the case of a super-wide-angle lens, we don't expect perfect imaging all the way to the edges at open aperture. But in the centre of the image, the performance must fit. But this is exactly what the Samyang does not achieve: the resolution and especially the contrast are clearly too low in the centre at aperture 2.8...
