Samyang 100mm f/2.8 ED UMC Makro - Fujifilm XF

Description

The first Samyang macro lens! The Samyang 100mm is suitable for much more than macro photography. The bright fixed focal length, with an image scale of 1:1, is manually focused and is also suitable for full-frame sensors in addition to MFT and APS-C.

This fixed focal length impresses with its luminous intensity of 1:2.8, produces vivid colours and a butter-soft bokeh.

Due to the close-up limit of only 30 cm, the smallest objects can be displayed very large. At the same time, the Samyang 100mm F2.8 ED UMC Macro scores as a classic portrait lens.

The internally focusing lens consists of 15 lenses in 12 groups. Chromatic aberrations are reduced to a minimum by a high refractive (HR) and an ED element. The multiple coating prevents unsightly flares and ghosting artifacts and provides crisp contrasts. The 9 blades form an almost round aperture, which is shown in the form of a dreamlike Bokeh.

Lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.

Macro lens

"Macro" lenses specifically designed for close-up work, with a long barrel for close focusing, are one of the most common tools for macrophotography. (Nikon designates such lenses as "Micro" because of their original use in making microforms, but most lens makers use the term "Macro" or "Makro.") These lenses are optimized for high reproduction ratios. Most modern macro lenses can focus continuously to infinity as well, using complex focusing mechanisms that alter the optical formula. In most cases these lenses provide excellent optical quality when used for normal photography, although a macro lens may be optimized to provide its best performance at its highest magnification. True macro lenses, such as the Canon MP-E 65 mm f/2.8, can achieve higher magnification than life size, enabling photography of the structure of small insect eyes, snowflakes, and other minuscule objects.
