The Sachtler 1017 System Ace XL fluid head with flowtech75 carbon fiber tripod is a tripod system for videographers using cameras up to 8 kg in weight. The Ace XL system offers broadcast level performance and is suitable for HDSLRs and compact camcorders. The Ace XL fluid head features a carbon fiber reinforced composite construction and weighs only 1.7 kg, while the two-stage carbon fiber tripod weighs only 2.9 kg. This brings the lightweight system to around 4.8 kg.

The ACE 140 mm long camera mounting plate allows the camera to be moved 104 mm for weight compensation. A 75 mm hemisphere for fast levelling and an illuminated leveling bubble integrated in the head ensure easy horizontal levelling.
