The mount uses Rycote's patented "Lyre" suspension system, which isolates the microphone without the use of runners or elastic components. Instead, its unique shape ensures that the mount specifically conforms to the microphone, preventing handling noise from reaching the capsule.

The high-quality materials used in the construction of the mount provide an exceptionally wide operating temperature range of -31 °F to 100 °C, far exceeding the range of typical elastic or rubber suspensions. The mount retains all the flexibility, balance, and performance you would expect from a Rycote suspension system.
