The coupling shown represents the clamp mounting. Stainless steel flexible shaft couplings are suitable for higher speeds, greater misalignment, and less lubrication than is common with other couplings. Each coupling is made in one piece, eliminating mechanical joints and potential sources of error. Two mounting types are available: typical applications include encoders, stepper motors, robotics, instrumentation, servo systems, pumps, valves, and fans. The set screw version is securely fastened with one set screw per shaft (120° apart). The version with clamp fastening uses one hexagon socket screw per shaft. These are backlash-free couplings for constant speeds and high torques, featuring a torsionally stiff one-piece design that is not sensitive to temperature. They are suitable for high and low speeds and reversal of direction of rotation, with no lubrication required. Up to 3° axial misalignment is permissible.
