PVA can be used with all common 3D desktop printers that utilize FDM or FFF technology. PVA filaments dissolve quickly in water, adhere well to plastics, and are easy to print. Therefore, it is an excellent support material for 3D printing processes with dual extruders. These polyvinyl alcohol-based filaments are non-toxic and biodegradable after dissolving in water. For applications other than support material, PVA is also available in colors and has high tensile strength.

The recommended bed temperature is ± 35-60 °C. The printing temperature should not exceed 225 °C, as PVA will quickly crystallize and cease to flow and/or dissolve in water. After purchasing your filament, it is important to store it properly to maintain quality. Over time, the plastic absorbs moisture from the air, creating small water bubbles in the filament. These bubbles can quickly reach boiling point when heated in the extruder nozzle, damaging the print. The use of desiccant drying agents to absorb moisture is highly recommended.
