The heat-shrinkable tubing can be used in a variety of applications such as electrical wire splices, cable sheathing, wire branching, strain relief and protective sleeves for electrical components. The tubing is made of an irradiated polyolefin material and has a special adhesive coating on the inner wall which melts when exposed to heat and is pressed into the joints of the component due to the shrinkage of the outer wall. After cooling, the tube is a semi-flexible, very homogeneous encapsulation material with controlled wall thickness.
