You want to connect a DVI cable to your monitor using the Mini DisplayPort socket on your graphics card. The solution is the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, which allows you to connect a DVI ST-ST cable to a Mini DisplayPort socket on the graphics card. The adapter features a Mini DisplayPort plug and a DVI socket.

Note: The Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter only works in one direction: the Mini DisplayPort plug can only be used on the data source side (e.g., graphics card).
