StarTech USB-C to SATA adapter
this thing is slower than boomer in a golf-cart driving in front of you on the highway. it can't handle commands in parallel (as enabled in UAS [USB Attached SCSI]) and only works with the ancient USB Mass Storage spec drivers.
So, if you thought you were going to be copying drives or doing fancy things with data, just stop. seriously, stop it before you make a fool of yourself.

The transfer rate I was able to achieve with an attached SSD was far below the result expected with USB-C (around 100 MB/s). The test was carried out on a MacBook Pro i9 16" with a Samsung SD 830 series.
I could not perform a test with the latest EVO generation because I did not have one.
Addendum: I have just tested with a Samsung 860 QVO 2TB SSD. Write speeds of around 480 MB/s and read speeds of over 500 MB/s were measured. So very decent.

Works well providing your device works within the defined power limits …… do not use with more power-hungry SSDs
Finally an external SSD adapter cable with a long enough cable so that the disc doesn't hang on the cable. Purchase recommendation
