With the StarTech USB 3.1 adapter in cable form, you can use the USB Type-C port to connect your laptop directly to a 2.5-inch SSD or hard drive. Use it with the latest MacBook, Chromebook Pixel, or other laptops for quick access to your external drive. The adapter allows fast and easy access to the external drive through your laptop's USB-C port and connects to a 2.5-inch SATA SSD/HDD without any additional accessories. Particularly portable, it is powered directly through the USB port. The time-saving data transfer rates of 10 Gbit/s with USB 3.1 Gen 2 support SATA I, II, III (up to 6 Gbit/s) and offer UASP support for improved performance. The integrated USB cable provides added convenience.
