First of all, I've got these elsewhere but I may hopefully persuade you into purchasing this amazing product. I'm coming from the WH-1000x2 and WF-1000x.
I love, love and looooove these earphones!! If you compare this masterpiece of engineering to the previous model (WF-1000x) you will get to know that these are beyond greatness. The WF-1000x are basically toys...
I can assure you that, this time around, the NC on these are stunning in conjunction with the passive sound isolation these provide. When I put these on for the first time, I was shocked how much noise they were able to cancel. After that, I downloaded the app and noticed that NC wasn't even turned on...My head got turned upside-down when the revamped NC kicked in. Really, really amazing. Also worth mentioning are the Ambient Sound modes which, in my point of view, got even better.
The sound quality is top-notch and they fit well into my ear canals. The life span is astonishing and the case feels and looks even good!
Sony has played their cards right this time. I'm sure that these are going to sell like freshly baked breads in a local market.
And no, Sony didn't pay me to write this review as there are two downsides I'd like to mention:
I'm quite sure that you heard about the absence of liquid resistance. It's not a big deal for me, but alas, for gym fellas, you should go off and buy something else.
Also there is no way of controlling the volume? Even in the app there is no remapping in regards of volume control for some reason. By all means: why? But oh well.
In conclusion, if you consider to carry a pocket-size, well thought-out and meticulous pair of earphones, then go for it. However if you like to have some extra bass, there is nothing wrong in choosing the older brother.

Have it for a few months, also had the Samsung Galaxy Buds. The Buds stay in the ears much better with Sony I have tried different plugs every 5min I have to redirect because I feel they fly out, quality +- bit better than the Buds but less bass although I have made the equalizer bass-heavy. Have a Samsung S10+ and would always recommend the Buds to a Samsung also the functions sync better.
Finally, earbuds with active NC, top! Pleasant feel, compact shape and good fit of the Earbuds. Integration with iPhone and Mac OS X (10.14.5) flawless. The battery life is also a special plus.

Are they GREAT! Perfect and rich sound, perfect bass with noise cancelling. 6 additional rubber tips in different sizes are included! Quickly set up with Bluetooth. No interruptions with the connection. Very easy to wear in the ear, so very comfortable! Also fit perfectly under the helmet! :-)
The ANC works very well and meets my expectations. The sound quality is convincing and the management with the app also works well.
Unfortunately, I get errors, such as a pod suddenly going out, the connection breaking or a loud noise.
Since the pods stabilise on the outside of the ear, I often have to "screw" the pods back in so that the hold fits again and the ANC works fully. This can be very annoying and leads to pain in the ear.
The touch function works very well.
The pods are quite large and look that way from the outside. The case is also large.
