I would even be inclined to say: 5 stars only in K...

I would even be inclined to say: 5 stars only in combination with the A77, because the lens tends to have very strong CA, especially at the edges, which the A77 eliminates almost completely in the camera using software.
    The
image quality (sharpness) is excellent, even at f2.8, from f4 to f8 razor sharp; the workmanship is also top (no lightweight), but even so, on my small (A55) the CA's (green-red edges on high-contrast edges) are very noticeable (the centre of the image is absolutely OK), with the A77 it is not an issue.
For Sony SLR's/SLT's with half format (APS-C) sensor, however, probably the lens with the best price/performance ratio (there's nothing comparable from Sigma and certainly not from Tamron)... that's why it remains at 5 stars despite colour abrasion at the edges.

    Great site for lens tests!

Great everyday lens with a continuous aperture of f/2.8

Good standard lens for everyday use.
