Doch die durchgängig hohe Lichtstärke und die praktische Distanzanzeige hebt das Sony SAL 2.8/16-50 mm SSM positiv hervor und machen es zum Testsieger.
Das Sony Objektiv arbeitet sehr präzise und das in fast allen Brennweitenbereichen. Am Rand kommt es zwar zu einem Abfall der Schärfe, aber dennoch ist die Gesamtleistung beeindruckend. Zudem ist der gummierte Fokusring sehr gut greifbar und somit das Ganze gut zu bedienen.
Das Zoom arbeitet sehr präzise und ist dabei sehr hochwertig verarbeitet. Auch das Handling ist durchweg gut, da es sehr griffig ist. Allerdings werden die Abberationen nicht perfekt korrigiert, sodass hier der größte Kritikpunkt zu sehen ist.
