OKI B412dn
Laser, Black and white
Works without any problems so far. Instead of a LAN cable, a telephone cable was included. For operation under Linux, the driver for the B410 must be downloaded from OKI and installed. I have not tested the integrated print server, I use the printer via USB.

I can highly recommend this printer. The only condition is that you update the original firmware to the latest version. This makes the device Windows 10 compatible. The quality is excellent! DE language must be installed with the enclosed CD.

Easy to install, good print quality. My last printer and the one before that were OKI printers.

Works immediately without manual driver installation as a network printer with Windows, Mac and Ubuntu Linux clients. Warming up to the first page takes a little longer than stated in the data (approx. 10 seconds), but after that it prints really quickly and cleanly.
The paper tray should be a little larger for an office printer than just 250 sheets.

I had already been using an OKI muktifunction printer for 8 years when I decided to buy the B412dn as another office printer. The second paper tray, which holds up to 10 envelopes, was a decisive factor.
The question of whether a printer with or without PostScript fonts is needed does not arise for simple office use. The B412dn is fully adequate with its PCL equipment without PostScript and can also be used with Android devices (those who need PostScript fonts would need the B432dn). In practice, most home and office applications use TrueType fonts anyway, so the B412dn's built-in PCL fonts would not even be needed. Printing TrueType fonts is flawless with the B412dn.
It is a pity that OKI is withdrawing from the office printer segment. If you are a fan of the brand, you may only have a short time left to get an OKI for your home office.

The WLAN module must be purchased separately, but it is easy to install and just as easy to configure.

Already two such printers in operation...
Pro
- Firmware update simply via programme from download
- Printer driver from simple download.
- Works perfectly.
Unfortunately, I have to throw away a brand new cable. I still have the one from the old printer and it fits. Otherwise I would have to buy one. Adapters are impractical and also a hazard because the contacts can get hot.

We have been using this workplace printer for a long time. It works excellent, trouble-free and makes good copies. What more do you need/want.
Exactly meets my requirements for a b/w laser printer

This black and white printer does not print as richly black as the colour printer from Oki. When it is switched on, it makes a short clicking noise that is somewhat irritating. It is also a bit of a diva, it always bitches when I have previously printed with another printer, it wants to be number 1 and be set as the default printer everywhere. But then it works perfectly.

Does what it's supposed to do - there's no more anxiety sweat when I have to print something....

our first oki.
sensationally simple network installation. and usb anyway.
connected to lan, was immediately recognised by two windows devices without even moving the mouse pointer ;-)
i have never had that with any device before!
Pro
As a network printer, it was quickly integrated and can be dialled up internally from anywhere. The double-sided print function saves paper. Price-performance ratio is right.
Pro
Good printer. Driver was not installed automatically (in Win10) (must be loaded from supplied CD).
Trouble-free installation. Much shorter start-up time and
double-sided printout available.

Completely reliable workplace or even department printer. Replaced after four years in Sept. 2018 by identical model at digitec bargain price.

I have had the device together with the WLAN module since August 2017 and am extremely satisfied. It only cost 99 plus 49 for Wi-Fi when it was on sale. The first toner lasts quite a long time.

Loud. Fixed in the meantime, was the roller on the paper feed. Now super as usual.

I print little and 95% in black and white. With a laser printer, I only use toner when printing, with an inkjet printer, few printers use a lot of expensive ink when cleaning the nozzles.
Pro
For the price, the quality is exceptional. I also bought the B430d a little over a year ago and it is still going strong. I can only recommend this pioneering brand as a printer manufacturer.
