LogiLink Audio and Video Grabber USB 2.0
LogiLink Audio and Video Grabber USB 2.0
I was worried because other reviews/ the info said they had issues with the software and that it didn’t work on Mac. I plugged it in, opened QuickTime, selected the audio and video inputs from the dropdown and hit record.
No software, drivers or anything needed, not even iMovie (though that works great too).
Highly recommended. Now I have hundreds of hours of video to digitize excuse me.

Attention: Contrary to the product description, this is the product type "VG0001B". This adapter is not compatible to Linux systems and therefore not usable for me.
Drivers are available from the website. The supplied "honestech VHS to DVD 2.0" is from the last millennium and does not work on Windows 10 at least.
However, the driver works well. The Logilink adapter is then recognised as a camera and microphone. So you can also record the signal with the Windows camera app or the VLC Media Player.
The VLC also has the side effect that you can watch the video and audio signal at the same time. To put it bluntly, you can connect an external DVD player to the PC with the adapter... today's laptops no longer have a drive anyway ;)

No warning that there is no Mac Driver. After reading the numerous comments it becomes apparent.... but who does that.

Logilink is not compatible with Magix - the associated honestech offers poor picture quality and the audio track is unusable - interruptions / asynchronous - editing not possible.
