    Great smartphone with mediocre camera

    The smartphone looks great and feels very good in the hand. The display has minimal edges and looks great. The smartphone has everything you could want, wireless charging, face recognition, voice recognition, a well placed fingerprint sensor (all 3 things work great), a quad dac that delivers great sound.... The speaker, yes unfortunately only one makes a soud that is reasonably ok, nothing more nothing less. The HTC U11, Google Pixel, Huawei Mate 10 pro and iPhone x make better sound. The reception is good, but I had better reception with my Huawei Mate 10 pro. Unfortunately, Wifi Calling and VoLTE Calling are not supported. The voice quality is good. The UI is good and can be customised with different themes. Unfortunately, the V30 still comes with Android 7, but an update to Android 8.0 is supposed to follow in January. The smartphone runs fast and the battery lasts quite long 7-8 hours screen on time were possible for me. Let's move on to what I didn't like so much, the cameras, did 5 megapixel front camera often looks blurry and washed out, others do it better, so the wide-angle selfie mode is not much consolation. The dual camera with the wide-angle camera unfortunately doesn't take great pictures either, despite an F1.6 aperture, the photos are too dark both during the day and at night and there is image noise. The camera of the Mate 10 Pro does a better job. Sorry that I always compare with the Mate 10 pro, but I have one here. An LG V30 with the camera of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro or Google Pixel would be great. Unfortunately, the camera is rather mid-range; my Honor 6x takes even better pictures.
    Except for the camera, the V30 is a great but too expensive smartphone.

    For me the best also because of DAC Hifi Stereo with headphones 🎧.

    Simply amazing smartphone!

    Incredible smartphone, with finally a wide angle camera - overall the V30 is still much better than the reviews on the net. We're probably dealing with a lot of fake reviews sponsored by the competition.

    • Photo part with super wide angle - efin !!! - no other smartphone holds up
    • Extraordinary large screen with vivid colours without going too far into the extreme
    • Great ergonomics, very well thought out, you get used to it quickly and you can't go back
    • Thin and light, very elegant, top finish

    Contra

    • no accessories (screen protector, cover, ...) in Switzerland, only on the net
